Playing Fields Association news.

Playing Field Development Project
Thanks to a large grant from North Lincolnshire Council, the PFA, in conjunction the Parish council, are currently in the process of upgrading facilities at the Playing fields. The upgrades and new facilities are the result of PFA ideas and a consultation with parishioners and will take place over the next year or so.

Developments include:

  • Completion of our existing Skate Park with the installation of a quarter pipe
  • Installation of outdoor gym equipment
  • Installation of a Tarmac and fenced MUGA (Multi Use Games Area)
  • New Bowls Pavilion
  • Extension and upgrade to the Playing Field Pavilion
  • Installation of a Zip Wire

We have recently ordered the quarter pipe for the skate park to complete the range of ramps available for use.  This extends from the original request from the children that use the park.

The next phase will be to order the outdoor gym equipment and zip wire.  The zip wire will be purchased from our own lottery fund where monies are raised by members in our lottery group.  The outdoor gym equipment will provide free cardio exercise for all ages and have proved to very popular for the health and wellbeing of  residents where they are installed in other areas. Equipment includes a skier and rower amongst other things

We are currently in the process of negotiations for the MUGA, which will be open for use 24/7 for the children of the parish to utilise. The MUGA will have a hard surface and will be fenced. Markings will be in place for football, netball and basket ball.
